Sylvia Willis Lett I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Truer words were never spoken. It's really strange how God works in mysterious ways. I never had any intention of writing a teen novel. My love for reading and writing was all about Romance and Adventure. One night I was watching a movie on Lifetime. Yes, I was actually watching Lifetime, and it had an enormous impact on me. I sat at my computer and started typing away. The story came to me and I kept typing. Within a week I had a draft of about fifty pages. I let a few teens read the draft and they all said it's good, but make it longer. It took me another week and guess what? I finished the manuscript. I submitted it back to the girls and they all loved the book. Several of them suggested I write a script and it's now complete. The script can be for a major motion picture, after school special or Lifetime feature film. The script and the book deals with issues teens face today, tomorrow and for the next fifty years. The story of Rainey, Alicia and Tamara may be fiction in I Wish I Had Waited, but we all know they are out there. We may know one of each of these young ladies. If this story keeps one girl from making a mistake which will impact her entire life, I feel my work is done. I Wish I Had Waited is not a preachy, sex is a sin book. It's a realistic look at what could happen to our friends, sisters, and daughters if they fall into the pitfalls of rushing to grow up. The novel not only shows for every action there is a reaction not only by you, but by the people around you. It makes you stop and think about your choices. Parents this is one you don't want to miss. Share it with someone you love. It helps open the lines of communication, the rest is up to you. Be careful, beware, trust your instincts and be safe.
