Samantha turned to go back inside when the front door opened and closed. She met Alex's penetrating gaze briefly before glancing away. One look was enough. She couldn't miss the desire in his eyes. He wanted her and she wanted him.
"How long do you intend to run from me? How long do you intend to run from your feelings?" he asked, blocking, her escape back inside.
As long as I have to. One of us has to be strong.
"I don't know what you're talking about," said Samantha evasively, trying to walk past him. "I'm going back inside." His arm snaked out around her waist and he pulled her flush against him. Her body reacted instantly to his and she swayed into him.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about," said Alex softly. The hot air from his breath fanned her flushed cheek. She shivered at the contact. "There is something going on between us. It didn't happen overnight. You can't deny it or hide from it anymore, Samantha. Tell me you don't feel the same way I do when I take you in my arms. These feelings we have are not going to just go away because you want them to."
